Positive things saying           POSITIVE SELF-TALK

Self-talk is what we silently – and sometimes unconsciously – say to ourselves when we are triggered by an internal or external event. It is important to learn to become mindful of our inner dialogue. Positive self-talk can have a powerful impact on changing the way we think and feel about events that happen, and, therefore, changing what we do next. We may not have control over the events that happen, but we do have control over how we choose to respond to those events.
THOUGHTS + FEELINGS = ACTIONS
Below are some examples of positive self-talk:
I think I need to take a time out to stop and think before I make a bad choice.
I am strong. I can do this.
It’s OK if I mess up. I will try again.
I don’t have to be perfect in this.
Just do it. Move on.
I don’t have to make a decision about this right now.
I need to take a time out.
I can change. I will change. I am changing.

BE ENCOURAGING TO YOURSELF, NOT DISCOURAGING
